Into the sunflower field we went and it became Kelsey’s ‘Sunflower Kingdom’. Kelsey is an amazing artist – specializing in yarn and hemp creations, mixed media and flower arrangements. We met at an opening for a new collaborative art space called, Ivy Creatives, and realized we soon would be working together at Brent Douglas Flower Shop. Now, we’ve been coworkers and friends for over half a year already! Time sure fly’s when you’re having fun with flowers. We decided to have some more flower fun outside of work by taking photos at Babette’s Seeds of Hope one day.
In the middle of our sunflower shoot we gave the flowers a break from posing and hit the hay… literally. I helped Kelsey up the hay bale, well the chair mostly did and then she did some dancing and sweet n’ sassy model stares into the distance.
We ended the shoot with a big ol’ sunset shot as I stood atop a tracker of sorts trying not to slip and break my camera or leg I guess. Then, she twirled in the setting sun as we headed back to the car. This was a super fun shoot and it was a great way to bond with this rad lady.
Keep a look out for all the amazing things that Kelsey has going on. She will have her own art show popping up at Ambient Inks in the near future and some pieces soon to be on display at The Nucleus. Kelsey is also super involved with the Non-Profit Art Organization: Sculpture Tour Eau Claire. She’ll be rallying up artists and sponsors for a huge mural project called, The Color Block, which is coming in June of 2020. Lots to look out for by this badass artsy lady!
